Family Counselling
A space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening — together.
Deeper listening, renewed connection
Families are where we first learn about love, safety, identity, and belonging — but they can also be where we experience misunderstanding, tension, or pain. Whether your family is navigating conflict, big life transitions, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to shift, family therapy offers a space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening together.
I work relationally with families to understand each person’s experience and the dynamics between you. The goal is not to assign blame, but to create space for deeper listening, clearer communication, and renewed connection.
Calm, structured & supportive
My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and care. I draw from person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapies — meaning we’ll look both at what’s happening on the surface (like arguments, roles, or behaviours) and the deeper emotions and unmet needs underneath. I tailor the work to your family’s specific situation, offering a space that is calm, structured, and supportive.
- Helping family members feel heard and understood
- Supporting clearer communication and healthier boundaries
- Exploring the impact of past events or traumas
- Navigating cultural, intergenerational, or identity-based tensions
- Coping with transitions such as separation, loss, or illness
- Supporting the wellbeing of a young person in the family
Every voice held with care
I work with families from all backgrounds and have extensive experience supporting families from South Asian and other culturally diverse communities, where cultural values, expectations, and generational dynamics may play a significant role.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I also work gently with families where there has been domestic abuse, relational trauma, or ongoing safety concerns — creating a space where everyone’s voice can be held with care.
